Privacy Policy

Effective: January 1, 2025. This policy explains how we handle your information during the experimental phase of Deltaverse.

1. Our Philosophy

Deltaverse is an independent, small-team social research project. Unlike traditional social platforms, we believe in digital agency and sovereignty. Our goal is to minimize data collection and eventually move to a model where you own your entire technical stack.

2. Information We Collect

As a research project in its early stages, our data collection is extremely limited:

  • Waitlist Information: If you choose to join our waitlist, we collect your email address. This is stored securely by our third-party provider, MailerLite.
  • Browser Consent: We use local storage to remember your cookie consent preferences so we don't ask you on every visit.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to help maintain and grow the experiment:

MailerLite

Used for waitlist management and occasional project updates. Their privacy policy ensures your email is handled with professional care. No spam, ever.

4. Cookies & Storage

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. We use:

  • Local Storage: To store your landing page preferences (like closing the GDPR popup).
  • Functional Cookies: MailerLite may use minimal technical cookies to prevent double-signups on the same form.

5. Decentralization Disclaimer

Deltaverse is a decentralized protocol. If and when you decide to host your own Deltaverse instance, the data you generate on that instance remains under your control. We do not have access to, nor do we monitor, independently-hosted instances of Deltaverse.

6. Your Rights

Under GDPR and other privacy frameworks, you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold (e.g., your waitlist email).
  • Request that we delete your email from our list.
  • Object to any processing of your limited data.
